Somewhere in the sea, Chiyuki was born. It’s unknown how she was discovered, or even if someone did it; she seemingly appeared out of the blue. Rumors about her origin go from mundane explanations to conspiracy theories. It’s believed that some Japanese divers found a girl drowning in the deep sea and rescued her, only noticing her unusual features once they were in the boat. Others tell that she was washed up ashore off the Gulf of Mexico, found by a local family visiting the beach. And… conspiracists will try convincing you that she’s an experiment, or an alien that couldn’t be covered up by the government.
Truth is only Chiyuki knows. Or she would, if her memories weren’t hazy.Her earliest memories are waking up and noticing she was surrounded by strangers in lab coats. Startled, she immediately shriveled from her girl form into that of a tiny slug. She tried to crawl away back into the sea, but a glance back at the humans was enough to make her reconsider. Her fear turned into curiosity, so she stayed around to learn more about them.Researchers tried to help her regain her memories while also studied her. and found that Chiyuki’s body shared similarities with a type of sea slug called Jorunna parva, otherwise known as sea bunny. It was unclear if she had started off as a human or as a sea bunny, but she had the traits of both.It took some time for her to bond with the researchers, but they quickly found bribing her with chocolate helped. Chiyuki showed interest in art, as well as cute things, and it wasn’t long before she also became engrossed by the internet.
